Youth Housing Specialist at Homebase Tas
Hi, I’m Thu Phan — a youth and community-focused professional with a Bachelor of Accounting, a Master of Social Work, and a Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies. I am also a Level One Certified Technology Addiction, bringing a specialised understanding of behavioural and digital addiction into my work.
With over 4 years of frontline experience, including 3 years in youth housing, 1.5 years as a school social worker, and my current role as Manager of a youth shelter, I have supported young people through complex challenges while championing early intervention and trauma-informed practice.
My passion lies in helping young people build confidence, resilience, and life skills. I have delivered workshops on technology addiction and have worked closely with schools, health professionals, and NDIS-related services to strengthen wellbeing and support networks for young people and their families.
As a mentor, I combine lived frontline experience, empathy, and practical, evidence-based strategies to guide others — whether they’re emerging social workers, young people finding their path, or professionals seeking confidence and clarity. My approach is strengths-based, culturally responsive, and grounded in genuine connection and empowerment.
