Power System/ Grid Connection/ Renewable Energy Engineer at Electranet

My name is Danny Ha, and I currently serve as a Power System Engineer at ElectraNet, where I contribute to the development and operation of South Australia's transmission network. ElectraNet plays a critical role in connecting and delivering clean energy across South Australia and the interconnection corridors with Victoria and New South Wales, helping to shape a more sustainable and resilient energy future.

I’ll soon be stepping into a new role with a renewable energy developer based in Victoria, where I’ll be directly involved in hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of renewable energy projects across Victoria, NSW, Western Australia and Newzeland. These projects are part of Australia’s broader mission to transition to a 100% renewable energy-powered grid, a goal that demands bold innovation, deep technical expertise, and collaborative effort across disciplines. In parallel with my industry work, I’m also working as a PhD researcher in renewable energy, which allows me to explore cutting-edge research and contribute to the academic foundation of Australia’s energy transformation. This dual engagement in both academia and industry gives me a unique vantage point to understand the challenges and opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

As Australia accelerates its transition to clean energy, the demand for skilled engineers—electrical, civil, mechanical, and mechatronic—is rapidly growing. The energy sector is evolving, and there’s a pressing need for passionate professionals to join this movement and help build the infrastructure that will power our future. With my experience and the offers I’ve received from leading organisations such as: AEMO (Australian Energy Market Operator), ElectraNet (Transmission Network Service Provider in South Australia), Tesla Energy, Renewable Energy Consultancies, Renewable Energy Developers …I aim to offer a unique perspective on the renewable energy landscape and inspire the next generation of engineers and professionals to contribute to this vital transition. Together, we can help deliver cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable energy to all Australians.
